By Akshay Acharya Mumbai, Nov 27, : The second season of British spy thriller Alex Rider will be released on December 3.Based on the novel series, the series follows the story of a teenage spy who is recruited by MI6 to spy for outlaws.
The new season of SonyLIV is based upon the ‘Eagle Strike’ edition from the novel series.It stars Otto Farrant as the eponymous character, with Ronke Adekoluejo portraying Jack Starbright, Alex’s legal guardian and Brenock O’Connor playing his best friend Tom Harris.
Ronke and Brenock spoke to IANS about the upcoming season.They also discussed how Alex’s characters are defined and how culture of television series and web series can help content creators face the challenge of digging deeper into stories.
Ronke claims that Alex’s tendency to be extremely cautious is due to Jack Starbright’s character.She says, “Alex picks up Jack’s cautiousness.” He is a great spy, even though he is very spontaneous.Alex has the same cautiousness Jack has.Even if it’s only for a moment, he retains that sense of caution even if he doesn’t do anything exciting or dangerous.
Brenock describes the character’s journey from season 1 through season 2.He has defeated the evil doppelganger who was his best friend.As Alex gets more involved in the spy world, Tom will be more nervous about Season 2.Tom is ready to do whatever it takes to help Alex.
Because of the time factor, it’s often noted that movies don’t do justice to the books they are based on.Ask him if he thinks the culture of web series and television series could help content creators overcome this problem.He replies, “There’s definitely more potential for a deeper story within an 8-hour timeframe than an hour and half or two hours.” The possibilities of diving deeper are endless when there are more series.The book that Alex Rider read is quite small.Perhaps because the first season was based only on a 120-page book.There’s more room for developing relationships and characters.
The Internet has revolutionized the way we produce, distribute and display content.Ronke believes that the Internet is a great tool for content creation, but it also helps actors tremendously.”The Internet can be one of the most valuable resources for actors.There is so much to do and so many stories being told.I’m willing to bet money that if you do some research on a story from 1800s, you’ll find it in Google Docs archives.
She says, “The Internet allows the work of other people to be shared worldwide and not just locally.That’s amazing because it means that a story can move people across borders.”
Brenock concludes by stating that the upcoming season will be a piece of content that is rich with thrill.”I would say the second season Alex Rider is intense, very story driven, and it’s an whirlwind, from start to finish.It doesn’t lose a beat anywhere in between.”
