By Durga Chakravarty New Delhi, November 20, : , Rohan Solomon, singer-songwriter and producer has submitted his track “We Demand Change” for consideration under the Best Rock Performance category of the Grammys.
According to the artiste, a Grammy is an acknowledgement by some of the best and most experienced individuals in music business.
Solomon talked with IANS about his first Grammy submission and how he felt when he found out about it.
It feels amazing.This is something I have never done before, as an artist or producer.It’s definitely a big step for me.It was a great surprise to hear that one of the members of the jury liked my song, and that he would like to endorse the song for the Grammys.
“But I was more excited when I learned about the submission.I’m now closer to being nominated.” The submission was sent to me by my strategist while I was in Dubai with friends.
He said, “As soon I learned it was confirmed I ordered another round of drinks.Each step represents progress, and those are the moments I treasure.
Solomon was previously an assistant engineer on a Grammy Award winning track called “Bubblin” by Anderson Paak.His single, ‘We Demand change’ (June 2021), reached the top 5 on Euro Indie Music Charts.
It also made it into the top 20 on World Indie Music Charts.
Solomon, who was a part in Grammy Award-winning song ‘Bubblin,’ is delighted to have his track, along with one of his tracks, up for consideration.
Yes, I was an assistant engineer during the vocal track session of ‘Bubblin.Vinnie Pagano was my assistant at Engine Room Audio, New York City.It was an enjoyable session.I was in the perfect place at the right moment in this situation.
He stated, “But having my song and another that I created and mixed in the running is a different feeling.” These two songs have required a lot more effort.
The entire process of writing, planning, recording, mixing, and editing for “We Demand Change” was all done by me.These songs are more dear to me than any other song.These songs were made with a lot of sweat and hard work (We Demand Change and Why), and I am very proud.
She added, “A Grammy is an acknowledgement by some of the best and most experienced persons in business.After all, it’s a peer-to-peer award.This is a validation of our progress.
