New Delhi, November 21st : .
According to an IANS-CVoter survey, the repeal of farm law will incentivize trade unions to resist changes to labor lawsNearly 43% of the respondents agreed with this poll.
The opinions of opposition supporters and NDA members were not significantly different.Surprisingly, over 25% of respondents were unable to express a definitive opinion.
This indicates that they have doubts about the effectiveness and efficiency of labour reforms.A section of farmers who have been vocally protesting the Modi regime since last year are still celebrating the repeal of three of their farm laws.
However, the IANS-CVoter poll revealed that there is bad news on the reforms front. Not only were the farm laws being aggressively pursued by the government, but many other reforms as well.
Two more reforms have been pursued by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has invested a great deal of political capital in them.First, the changes to the outdated labour laws.
These laws have only been beneficial to a select few and deprive the majority (roughly 90% of workers according to reliable estimations) of all benefits.Changes to the labour code are still being considered since 2020.
Similar questions were raised when people were asked whether opposition parties would try to stop the successful privatisation plan being pursued.Nearly 48% of respondents agreed that there was no difference in support for the NDA or opposition supporters.
Uncertainty was evident in the fact that around 25% of respondents couldnt give their opinion. The IANS-CVoter survey asked the respondents whether they believe Indian investors and foreigners will be able to hear that India is not reforming.
Nearly equal 36% agreed with the statement and 29% disagreed. However, 29% could not form an opinion.
The Modi regime is clearly not able to convince the average Indian that the reform agenda will be implemented with the same vigour. This can only be bad news for Indias future economic prospects.san/ksk #Trade #encouraged #resist #laws #Delhi.
