Los Angeles, December 8, 2008 : Rebel Wilson, a Hollywood star, has stated that her management team opposed her losing weight due to her success as the “funny fat” girl. Wilson said to ‘BBC Breakfast’ that he received a lot of pushback in Hollywood from my own team when he said OK, I would do the year of health.
He felt like he was really going to physically transform his life and make a difference in it.
“And they were like, why? Why would you want to do that? Because I was the funny fat girl and that person who made millions of dollars.”
Femalefirst.co.uk reports that the actress used food to “numb emotions” and to hide her insecurity about not being a natural performer.
She said, “I knew deep inside that some emotional eating behaviors I was engaging in was not healthy.
I didn’t need a tub full of ice cream every night.This was not the case.
That was me using food to numb my emotions, which wasn’t the best thing.
“It was the struggle to be a natural performer and performing every day.That pressure and internal stress was necessary to be able perform like that.
