Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh), November 30, : A widow who had been sexually assaulted and raped by her brother-in law gave birth in her home after she was turned down by doctors at the Bhitargaon Centre for Health Care.The doctors on duty requested that she return home, stating that she was able to deliver the baby in time.
The victim gave birth to the Child hours later at home.
Satish Rathore, the in-charge of Saadh’s police station, told reporters that the victim’s statement would be recorded as soon she recovers.
He added, “Alongside this, the DNA testing process also will be done.”
The widow had accused her brother in law of sexually assaulting and torturing her over the past few months.
After meeting with senior police officers, a case for rape was filed against her on September 4, at the Saadh station.
However, the brother-in-law accused is still being held.
Sources claim that the widow lived in the house with her three children after her husband’s death.
Her brother-in-law raped and threatened her children if she didn’t go to the police.
