Rajasthan’s jobless youths protest at UP Cong to meet Priyanka

Lucknow, Nov 29, : Unemployed youth from Rajasthan are staging a ‘dharna’ outside the Congress party headquarters at Lucknow.They are demanding an audience with Congress general Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
Protests in Uttar Pradesh, organized under the banner Rajasthan Berozgar Ekikrut Mahasangh, are designed to pressurize the Ashok Gehlot-led Congress government of Rajasthan to grant long-standing demands by the unemployed of Rajasthan.

They want appointments in several government jobs, increased vacancies for state government jobs, and a non-bailable statute against those who leak questions in competitive examinations.

“We are now sitting on ‘dharnas’ outside the UP Congress Committee, and have started a hunger strike.We have been protesting in Jaipur for 47 days.We want to meet Priyanka Vadra.The Congress announced that they will provide 20 lakh jobs in Uttar Pradesh.

We had supported the Congress before the 2018 Assembly elections.However, the promises made to us have not been kept,” stated Upen Yadav on Monday, president of RBEM.

Earlier, the RBEM stated that it would oppose the Congress at rallies of its leaders, which included Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, in the Uttar Pradesh elections.

“The Congress has a government at Rajasthan.

They are not fulfilling their promises to the youth unemployed and instead make tall promises to the people in Uttar Pradesh.Yadav stated that the party should first fulfill their promises in Rajasthan.”

Protesters also accused UP Congress employees of misbehaving.
