Qualcomm may shift some Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 production over to TSMC

San Francisco, December 8, 2008 : Qualcomm announced that its latest premium 5G mobile platform Snapdragon8 Gen1 SoC was manufactured in Samsungs 4nm Foundries.

However, a new report claims that production issues are forcing Qualcomm (TSMC) to shift some of the production to Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing CompanyAccording to industry sources Qualcomm is unhappy with Samsungs yields.

It is not capable of producing all the chipsets it needs so TSMC will likely take control, reports GSMArena.TSMC is a well-known semiconductor company and chips made there may outperform those made in Samsung.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 features cutting-edge 5G and AI technologies, as well as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and gaming capabilities.It will be adopted worldwide by brands and OEMs, with commercial devices expected before the end of 2021.
