Pune Open Golf Championship to Be Held from Dec 1

Pune, Nov 30, : The fifth edition Pune Open Golf Championship will take place at the Poona Club Golf Course, from December 1-4.

This was announced by the organisers on TuesdayThe tournament, which has a prize pool of Rs 40 lakh, is the last full-field event in 2020-2021 of the TATA Steel PGTTIs season.

It will take place before the season-ending TATA Steel Tour Championship.The Pro-Am event will take place on December 5.The event will feature prominent Indian names like Kshitij Naved Kaul, Manu Gandas and Yuvraj Singh Sandhu.Anura Rohana and N Thangaraja from Sri Lanka will lead the international challenge.

Pune will be represented by Gurki Shergill, Pravin Pathare, Sameer Shaikh, Rajiv Datar and Rajaram Baburao Galfade.Amateur Rohan Dhole Patil will also be representing the host city "This year, there is the added excitement that the Pune Open will be the final PGTI event prior to the season-ending Tour Championship next month," Uttam Singh Mundy, CEO of PGTI "With spots in top 60 for the Tour Championship up for grabs one can expect intense competition as players would be vying to get those spots and their exemption next year," he said.

This 72-hole stroke-play tournament features 126 players, including three professionals and three amateurs.After 36 holes, the cut will be made.
