It protested the three farm laws and made several other demands.

The Samyukta Kisan Morcha, a group of 40 farmers’ organizations, stated in a release that “the fact that such an interminable struggle must be waged is a clear reflection of the insensitivity of India’s Government toward its toiling citizens.”

SKM stated that the protest movement grew to encompass every Indian state, every district, and every village over the twelve-month period.

On November 27, Samyukta Kiran Morcha will hold a meeting at Singhu Morcha.

According to the release, the farm unions will decide on the next course of action at the meeting.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced last Friday that the three farm laws would be repealed.

The cabinet on Wednesday approved their repeal and said that formalities in the Parliament will take place as soon as possible.

The SKM statement stated that, apart from the Government’s decision to repeal the anti-farmer laws and the Cabinet ratification, the movement had many victories for farmers, common citizens, and the nation as a whole.

It said that the movement created a sense for farmers of a unified identity, which transcended religious, regional, or caste boundaries.Farmers are now feeling pride in their identity as farmers and their claim to citizenship.

It has strengthened the roots of democracy in India and secularism in India.

SKM expressed its deep appreciation for all participants and supporters of this movement and reiterated that the repealing of three anti-farmer laws was only the first major victory.

It stated that SKM is still awaiting fulfillment of all legitimate demands from the protesting farmers.

The ‘Kisan andolan’ still has demands.

They want legal right to MSP on all agricultural produce; withdrawal of Electricity Amendments Bill; keeping farmers out of penal regulations related to Delhi air quality; withdrawal of cases against thousands protesting farmers; and dismissal and arrest for Ajay Mishra Teni, the MoS Home in connection with the Lakhimpur Kheri case.

According to the statement, workers and farmers are responding in large numbers to the Samyukta Morcha’s call, marking one year of the historic farm movement that saw massive protests at Delhi morchas, capitals, and district headquarters of distant States.

Thousands of farmers have begun arriving at the various morchas located in Delhi. There are plans to hold rallies, dharnas, and other programs in states far from Delhi.

A huge Kisan-Mazdoor Mahapanchayat will be held in Mumbai’s Azad maidan on November 28.

It stated that the Mahapanchayat will take place under the joint banner Samyukta Shetkari Kamgaar Morcha, which includes over 100 organizations. It will include farmers, workers, and common citizens from all parts of Maharashtra.

SKM reiterated its demand in a letter to Prime Minister that the Union government pay compensation and rehabilitation to the families and survivors of the movement and allocate land at Singhu morcha for a memorial in their names.
