Private varsities in AP allots 2,012 engineering seats to poor merit students under convener quota

In the AP EAPCET-2021 conducted for students admissions in professional courses like engineering and pharmacy in the state, 80,935 students have been allotted first-class seats.The details regarding the seats filled through the counselling process were released by Pola Bhaskar, convener of admissions and special commissioner of technical education.

Out of a total of 437 colleges, there are 1,11,304 seats under the convener quota, where 80,935 seats were already allotted.There are still 30,369 seats.

Speaking on this occasion, he said that they had not received the final merit list of 488 in the sports category and 976 in the NCC from the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh and NCC Directorates.

A total of 2,59,564 people applied for AP EAPCET-2021.

Of these, 1,75,796 applied for the engineering stream and 83,051 for the agriculture and pharma stream.Of the 1,34,205 who qualified, 90,606 registered for counselling for early admissions.

Of those who registered, 90,506 were eligible for registration and 89,898 were registered.Of these, 80,935 were allotted seats in the first phase of counselling.

For the first time, private varsities like Vellore Institute of Technology – Amravati, SRM, Best University, Centurion Universities allotted 2,012 seats to the poor merit students under the convener quota.
