Principal ends life in college in K’taka

Bagalkot (Karnataka),  Aug 22 : A college principal allegedly committed suicide on the premises of the college in this district of the state on Tuesday.

The incident took place in the Government College of Hungund town near Bagalkot.

The deceased principal was identified as 50-year-old Nagaraj Mudgal.

According to police, the now-deceased was overseeing the preparations for the Folk Culture Programme slated to be organised in the College on Tuesday.

After monitoring the preparations till late in the night, Mudgal went home only to return at 1 a.m.citing urgent work in the college.He then again left for home early in the morning and came back after freshening up.

However, he was found hanging from the grill of the staircase later.

As per his family, though he had mentioned about the stress in the college but had never elaborated.

Police immediately rushed to the spot and took up the investigation.
