Panaji, Nov 28, : .Prasoon Joshi, a renowned lyricist, creative writer, stressed that India’s diversity is truly amazing.
She said that if there wasn’t a platform for all segments to share their stories, India’s rich diversity wouldn’t be displayed in her cinema. After being honoured with the Film Personality of the year’ award at the 52nd International Film Festival of India, the eminent lyricist/creative writer thanked IFFI for providing such a platform through the 75 creative minds initiative.
He stated that IFFI was more than an awards ceremony, it was a festival.I believe what these 75 Creative Minds could do for the country gives me hope.
The renowned writer stated that he was from Uttarakhand and said that he knew how difficult it was for him to be exposed to cinema.
The writer pointed out that films can appear magical, but filmmaking shouldn’t.
He stated that this initiative was meant to give exposure.
Joshi stated that filmmaking is a process and suggested that there should be fewer opportunities.He said, “That’s because there are so many brilliant minds waiting to go in the country who want to create great films.”
Joshi stated that he was optimistic about the future of Indian cinema and said, “The diversity in this country is amazing.” If we don’t have a platform to showcase the diversity, it won’t reflect in our cinema.It will only reflect if all the people we saw from different parts of the country start sharing their stories.
Anurag Thakur, Union Information and Broadcasting Minister, Pramod Sawant, Goa Chief Minister, and Madhuri Dixit, actress, presented the ‘Film Personality of the year’ award to the acclaimed lyricist and creative writer.
