Portugal finds a new Omicron variant case

Lisbon, December 1, 2008 : Portugal has reported a new case with the Covid-19 Omicron variant.

It was linked to a football team that had been infected with the variants first batchAccording to Luis Amaro (President of the Board of Directors of Hospital Garcia de Orta), the patient was able to contact the Belenenses SAD soccer club personnel on Tuesday.

They had already identified 13 people infected by an athlete who had returned from South Africa.The hospital also identified potential contacts of risk among health care professionals who treated infected patients, as well as caregivers and patients at risk, Xinhua news agency reported.
