Panaji, December 8 : .Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Goa for a day-long visit on Dec 19 to mark the 60th anniversary of the state’s liberation from Portuguese rule. Sawant stated that PM Modi will be visiting Goa on December 19, and would also address a public meeting during his state visit.
“He will pay a floral tribute at Azad maidan, Panaji, to the fallen martyrs in Goa’s freedom movement.” Sawant stated that all three military wings will be holding a sail parade to honor the PM’s arrival.Goa was freed from 451 years colonial Portuguese rule in December 1961.
Modi will address a public function at Shyama Prasad Mukherjee stadium, just outside of Panaji.He will also present awards, felicitate freedom fighters, and conduct the virtual inauguration for various government projects.
