PM security breach in Punjab: SC panel holds Ferozepur SSP responsible for lapses (Lead)

The committee suggested that there need to be an oversight committee to oversee the periodic review of Blue Book which is concerned with security for the PM.It also accused the Ferozepur police chief for not taking action in the connection with the security of PMs convoy.The Supreme Court declared: "We direct the Registry to forward the copy of this report to the Central Government and the State Government to take further action.This petition is taken care of.In addition to the above, the pending interlocutory petitions are also being to be disposed of." On January 12th on the 12th of January, the Supreme Court had appointed its retired judge, Justice Malhotra, to be the chairman of the committee investigating Prime Narendra Modis security breach in Punjab Chief Justice N.V.Ramana then had declared that the panel would investigate into the root causes of the security breach, the people who were responsible for the breach, and also the steps to be adopted in the future to stop security breaches of the Prime Minister, as well as other constitutional officials.The remaining participants of the panel were the Director General of Police, Chandigarh, the Inspector General of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) or his nominee, not less than the level of IG the Registrar General of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, and the Additional DGP, Security, Punjab.
