Manchester, December 13, 2013 : .Manchester United has shut down for 24 hours their Carrington Training Complex team operation.
This was to reduce the possibility of infection from Covid positive results among first-team staff. After some of its players and staff were tested positive for Novel Coronavirus, the club released a statement.
Manchester United has confirmed that PCR testing revealed positive LFT Covid-19 results among first-team staff and players.The decision was made to shut down the Carrington Training Complex’s first team operations for 24 hours to reduce the chance of further infection.
The statement said that the club was in discussions with Premier League about Tuesday’s Brentford fixture.
Further doubts remain about United’s Premier League match against Brentford, Tuesday.
After a small number of positive Covid-19 test results were received by staff and players, the match could be suspended.This was following Sunday’s training session.
Positive results meant that the training program was modified to include individual sessions and not-contact ones.The Premier League has been informed about the results.
The closing of the training center on Monday will increase the uncertainty.
