Party election a sham and scam, Rahul immature & coterie running the show: Azad

New Delhi, Aug 26 : Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad has criticised Rahul Gandhi and his comrades for the pathetic performance of the party.

He called the entire process of organizing elections as a "farce and an utter sham" since the party will determine the date of internal elections.

"At no point in the country has there been elections organized at any level of the organization.Hand-picked lieutenants of the AICC are coerced to sign lists of candidates by the coterie that manages the AICC site in 24 Akbar Road," he declared.

Azad stated in his letter that nowhere in a booth district, block, district or state was an electoral register released or nominated, scrutinized, or even viewed and polling booths set up and elections conducted, and the AICC leadership was firmly accountable for committing a massive fraud against the party to keep its grip on the wreckage of what was once a national movement which fought for and achieved the Independence of India "Does the Indian National Congress deserve this in the 75th year of Indias Independence is a question the AICC leadership has to ask itself," he said "While certain that as president of the Indian National Congress you played an integral role in the creation of both UPA 1 and the UPA 2 governments.But one of the major factors that contributed to this success was the fact that as President, you listened to the wisdom of high-ranking leaders as well as trusting their judgment and delegating power to them" he said "However it is unfortunate that after the admission of Rahul Gandhi to politics, and in particular in January 2013, when he was appointed Vice President by you the entire Consultative Mechanism that was in place before was destroyed by Rahul Gandhi," he added and all experienced and senior leaders were dismissed and a new sycophants of inexperienced sycophants began running the activities of the party.miz/dp.
