International observers Monday stated that the most recent parliamentary elections in Kyrgyzstan had been transparent and democratic.
"The mission recognizes that the past elections were transparent and democratic.At a briefing in Bishkek, Yerik Ashimov, the head of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), stated that there have not been any violations of the country’s laws that cast doubt on the legitimacy and validity of the elections.
According to Xinhua news agency, Vasily Volkov, Head of the Commonwealth Independent States observer mission, said that the voting took places in a calm and transparent environment.Observers from CIS Mission stated that they had observed a few violations, but this would not affect the outcome.
On Sunday, Kyrgyzstans parliament elections began under the observation of 736 international observers.The goal was to elect 90 deputies for a 5-year term.Preliminary data from the Central Election Commission, (CEC) shows that the turnout was 32.12% and that six parties have surpassed the five percent barrier.int/sk #Observers #democratic #Kyrgyzstan.
