Elections for parliament are over in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek : , Nov 29, 2009 – The parliamentary elections in Kyrgyzstan have ended.
According to Xinhua news agency, all 2,435 polling stations were closed at 8 p.m.(14400 GMT) Sunday.However, 59 polling stations have been set up in 29 countries.

Nurzhan Shaildabekova (head of the Central Election Commission) reported that data from 266 automatically reading ballot boxes were processed in one electoral district.This is 90.86 percent.Out of the total 3,703,420 voters, 32.12% or 1,189.493 voted.

Preliminary results of the automatically reading ballot show that six parties have passed the five percent barrier: Alliance (8.12%), Butun Kyrgyzstan (6.71%), Yiman Nuru (5.98%), Yiman Nuru (10.73%)), Yntymak (11.73%), Ishenim (11.33%), Ata-Zhurt Kyrgyzstan (16.83%)).

25578 voters – 2.15 percent voted against it all

The data of 2,392 automatically-reading ballot boxes were processed in single-mandate constituencies.Out of 3,619 29,292 voters, 1,251,624 were eligible to vote.

90 Parliament deputies were elected using a mixed electoral system.54 of them were elected by political parties according to a proportional system, while 36 others were elected from single-mandate constituencies.
