New Delhi : , Nov 21, 2011 – Pakistani policy toward Afghanistan was criticized by speakers at an event in Lahore.Pajhwok News reported.

Abdullah Khenjani from Afghanistan attended the session, which was called Chaos in Afghanistan and Talking with Banned Organizations.

They had both obtained visas before Kabul fell.

The panel included Afrasiab Khatak, a former senator from Pakistan and Samina Ahmed (International Crisis Group), who were both members of the Pakistani National Assembly Mohsin Dwar and Samina Ahmad.

Khattak addressed the group, saying that the Taliban had the ability to reward their commanders.However, they didn’t know how to serve people.Pajhwok News reports.

He observed that Afghanistan was now a prison without a functioning government, just as Pakistan had fenced the Durand Line.

Khattak claimed that Pakistan’s Afghan policy was not formulated by the prime minister.He asked Islamabad to cease supporting the Taliban in Afghanistan, according to the report.

He said that Afghan Taliban and Pakistani Taliban were two sides of one coin.He insisted that the Tehreek-iLabaik Pakistan (TTP) and Taliban pursued the same agenda of “political Islam”.

Dawar lashed out at Pakistan for refusing visas to Afghans.Dawar said Pakistan is open to militants but not Afghans.

According to MNA, Pakistan’s support for the Afghan Taliban was an opportunity to strengthen outlawed groups like TTP or TLP.

Najafizada referred to recent developments in Afghanistan as a collective failure.Najafizada asked for the Taliban’s help and offered to meet with the rest of the world about the future.

The Doha peace negotiations had flaws and the Taliban did not intend to reach any agreement; he stated that the Taliban also said the former government had miserably failed in building institutions.
