After 5 years, Pak Flag carrier resumes direct flights into Iran

After a five-year gap, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), has resumed direct flights from Iran, an official statedAbdullah Hafeez Khan was a spokesperson for flag carrier and said that the flight left from Lahore in Iran to Mashhad, Iran, on Wednesday night.

It returned to Pakistan on Thursday, according to Xinhua news agency.Officials stated that the flight would be resumed to facilitate pilgrims and tourists, and strengthen people-to-people connections between both countries.

They also said that passengers will have access to high-quality and affordable air travel.Arshad Malik, Chief Executive Officer of PIA stated in a statement to the media that Iran and Pakistan have agreed to intensify their air cooperation.
