A new report alleges that Paine had sent explicit texts to Cricket Tasmania staffers in 2017 and requested an apology. She also asked for $40,000 towards her legal expenses.
Sydney Morning Herald reports that representatives from CA received a print copy of text messages and images in January 2019 by an ex-staffer.

According to the report, “CA confirmed to The Age & The Sydney Morning Herald” that the employee contacted The Governing Body multiple times during the second quarter of 2018 in order to request an apology from Paine as well as money for her legal expenses in an ongoing Cricket Tasmania dispute.

CA received the emails from the employee.Christine Harman was the head of legal affairs at CA.The email was shared with selected senior staff members.

“Haman replied in November to the request.

It was rejected on the ground that there was a dispute between Harman and Cricket Tasmania.Paine wasn’t a contracted CA player at the time the text exchanges took place in November 2017.

It said that Paine had been subject to “parallel investigations” by Cricket Tasmania and CA’s integrity unit, because he was both CA-contracted as well as the captain of the team at the time the exchanges were reported to CA in May 2018.

In May 2018, a CA integrity investigation concluded that the incident had been handled in accordance with its code of conduct.
