P V Sindhu – Honored by Union Government

Union Government of India took pride in honoring sportsmen who brought name and fame to India with their contribution in respective sports.

Olympic Silver Medalist PV Sindhu, Bronze Medalist Sakshi Malik, Gymnast Dipa Karmakar and Shooter Jitu Rai with Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award on Monday.

Apart from this Government also honored fifteen other sportsmen by conferring Arjuna Award, Six Dronacharya Awards and Three Dhyan Chand Award.Pranab Mukherjee President of India gave Rs.7.5 lakh cash price for Rajiv Khel Ratna Awards and Rs.5 lakhs for Arjuna, Dronacharya and Dhyan Chand Awards in New Delhi on Monday.Indian Cricketer Rahane was selected for Arjuna Award could not make himself available to accept award as he is in USA for T20 Series against West Indies.
