San Francisco, Aug 24 : A brand new, unopened first-generation 2007 iPhone in sealed packaging has been auctioned off for $35,000 (nearly 28 lakh rupees) in an auction in the US.On the 9th of January 2007, Apple CEO Steve Jobs unveiled the iPhone -an iPhone-like mobile phone that is touchscreen with an iPod camera, Web-browsing and camera capabilities along with other features during the Macworld convention in San Francisco.
The iPhone had an LCD screen and a camera with a resolution of 2MP with a visual voicemail, as well as an internet browser.The iPhone was launched in the US in June 2007 for the cost of $499 for the 4GB model and $599 for the 8GB model, both of which required an agreement for two years.
Now, the fully-packed version of the iPhone (8GB) was sold for $35,414 during an auction, according to ZDNet.
Auction house RR Auction, said that the iPhone box has a life-size picture of the iPhone with 12 icons on the screen.
The device was put up to auction as part of the RR Auction’s “Apple Jobs, Apple and Computer Hardware” auction which included over 70 items offered to bid and ended on August 18.
The auction also included the Apple-1 circuit board manufactured by Apple co-founder Steve “Woz” Wozniak, which was auctioned off for $677,196.
Additionally, an unopened , first-generation Apple iPod (5GB) was sold for $25,000.Apple iPod (5GB) sold for $25,000, according to the report.
Apple is set to announce the iPhone 14 series along with other products and devices on the 7th of September.
