Bengaluru, Dec 8, 2008 : The Chief Minister of Karnataka Basavaraj Bommai suggested Wednesday new guidelines for managing the Covid-19 situation in the face of Omicron fears.
He said, “It will also be discussed at a cabinet meeting scheduled for Thursday and a call taken.”

The cabinet meeting will discuss Covid management within the state.”We will discuss developments after the second wave in Covid subsided within the state.How has it come, the developments in November, detections of Covid cases within clusters? How many clusters do we have? How can you manage it? What has been done so far? The cabinet meeting will discuss Omicron effects and tracing primary and secondary contacts.

“We will also discuss the treatment available in Omicron’s other nations and the protocol to be followed, and make decisions.

We will also discuss all actions taken in relation to the second wave of Covid, including installation of Oxygen plants.How many have been installed and how much are due.

The pending dues for Medical Education and Health departments, private medical colleges, and labs will all be cleared.Approvals have already been given.

The cabinet meeting will discuss what needs to be done to manage the state’s Covid situation until March.He explained that Covid experts will also attend the meeting and that a decision will be made in the cabinet meeting about the formulation of new guidelines for the state.

Bommai explained that Covid cases in certain districts are on the rise, while others are under control.The guidelines have been issued by the Central government.He stated that “Everything will been taken into consideration when taking a call for new guidelines.”

The state government has made it a condition that only two doses of vaccines are required for entry to cinemas, malls, and commercial complexes.Parents of school-going children must ensure that their children receive two doses of vaccines in order to allow them to enroll in offline classes.
