Sindhu, Olympic gold medallist will again run for the BWF Athletes Commission election

Kuala Lumpur : , Nov 23, 2009 : .Two-time Olympic Games gold medallist PV Sindhu, star Indian badminton player, will be standing for re-election at the Badminton Federation (BWF), Athletes Commission elections in Huelva (Spain) on December 17.
Pusarla V., a two-time Olympic gold medallist and world champion, is currently the Athletes Commission’s only member up for reelection.BWF stated in a statement that nine candidates were nominated to the six vacant positions.

Sindhu is not at her best and was eliminated from the Indonesia Masters semifinals last week, where she lost to Akane Yamaguchi of Japan in an overwhelmingly close match.

Greysia Politi, an Indonesian woman’s doubles expert and gold medallist in the Tokyo Olympics women’s games, will also be contesting the election.

Polii, after being nominated, stated that she wanted to help fellow players achieve their goals and assist them with any requests regarding competing on the international circuit.
