New Delhi, Nov 29th : , A clothing brand was recently in the news after a photo shoot at Kartarpur Gurdwara, Pakistan.Express Tribune reported that a model from Lahore can be seen naked in the photo, posing for camera.
This poses a threat to the sacredness of the place. Fawad Chaudhry, Pakistan Federal Information Minister, and members of Sikh community were upset by the fashion photoshoot at Kartarpur shrine.
Chaudhry attacked the designer and the model during the photoshoot.
He wrote on Twitter, “The Designer and the Model must apologise for Sikh Community #KartarPurSahib are a religious symbol and no Film set.”
Manjinder Singh Sisa, President of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, also condemned the act, calling the it “desecration”.
“Pakistan court issued an arrest warrant for a star who danced video at Mosque; the same must be done against this Lahore woman as an example of treating every religion equally.”
He said, “Otherwise any talk of respecting Sikhism would be hollow.”
Sirsa also tweeted: “This behavior and act at Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s pious place is completely unacceptable!” Can she imagine doing the same at her Pakistani religious site? Imran Khan and the government Pakistan should immediately take action to stop Pakistani people treating Sri Kartarpur Sahib like a picnic spot.
Mannat, a clothing brand, has since clarified the matter.According to the report, the Instagram page has since removed the controversial photos and issued a statement.
Mannat Clothing does not post pictures from shoots.These photos were taken by a third-party (blogger), in which they were wearing our dress.
Mannat has no role in deciding where and how the pictures were taken,” the statement stated.
“We regret our error in posting this content.
We apologise for any offense caused by it.All holy places are sacred to us.”
“All our media channels have been removed all photos and posts.We sincerely apologise for any offense done to the public sentiment.
We are confident that you will understand that we did not intend to do this.
Pakistan Punjab Police, however, stated that they are conducting an investigation into the incident and will take strict legal action against those responsible.
“Management of the concern brand & model is being investigated.According to the report, worship places of all religions can be equally revered.”
