Bhubaneswar : , The Economic Offences Wing of the Odisha Police has arrested a person in connection to the Q-Net fraud case.Officials said Tuesday.Arabinda Kumar, an accused from Kendrapara district, was arrested in connection to a case against Q-Net Ltd.(a Hong Kong-based multi-level market company) and its franchise M/s.Vihaan Direct Selling (India) Private Limited in September 2019.
According to an EOW official statement, the above companies were represented by their directors and promoters, namely Chandan Kumar, Sarat Parida and Devabrat Harichandan.
Prasant Kumar Mohanty and Arabinda Kumar.They ran illegal money circulation schemes under the guise direct selling multi-level market (MLM) and misappropriating the investments of gullible investors to a tune of several hundred thousand.
It said that four other accused, Sarat Kumar Parida and Devabrat Harichandan as well as Chandan Kumar Mohalik, Chandan Mohalik, and Prasant Kumhanty, were also arrested in the case.
The police discovered that the accused persons had lied to 31 investors in a criminal conspiracy.They collected Rs 1.2 crore with the promise of very high returns.
The EWO stated that the directors/promoters of the aforementioned company have failed to provide the promised service/returns for the money they invested.
