Bhubaneswar 12 August : The Odisha government will offer an unpaid kit with condoms and contraceptives with condoms and contraceptives -to newlyweds as part of an initiative of the Central government, Mission Parivar Vikas, an official announced on Friday. The kit is referred to as ‘Nayi Pahal Kit’ or ‘Nabadampati It is distributed by ASHA employees and will include guidelines, brochures and other relevant documents regarding the significance of healthy sex and family planning, and spacing births.
Each kit comes with two towels and a nail trimmer mirror as well as a handkerchief, condoms, a comb contraceptives, and an application for marriage registration.
Director of health and family welfare Bijay Panigrahi said that the state government will give out the kit to help strengthen the family planning program in the state.
The health department will increase awareness among newlyweds about the family planning program by implementing the program, he said, adding that the program will take effect in both urban and rural regions of the state.
The scheme will be rolled out in the state in September of this year, according to sources.
