Companies can now buy Haryanai farmers’ produce directly.

Chandigarh : , Tuesday, November 30 : , Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lakh Khattar stated that continuous efforts are being made by the government to improve the economic situation of farmers and encourage them to trade and market.
The Chief Minister spoke at the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which was between investors and farmer-producer organisations.

He stated that 29 MoUs were signed to provide direct benefits to farmer-producer organizations.Their goal is to collect the produce from farmers and give them maximum value.

The Chief Minister expressed gratitude to companies that came forward in food processing and said that buyers would also benefit from lower prices.

These companies will procure fruit, vegetables, and honey directly from the farms.

He appealed to investors and farmer producer organizations to give priority to families with less than Rs 1 lakh income by providing employment under Mukhyamantri Antyodaya Parivar Utthan Yojana.

He also asked 500 progressive farmers for training in crop diversification to small farmers.

According to the Chief Minister, Haryana is a leader in the formation and operation of farmer producer organizations.They are also trying to make agriculture more profitable.

This will improve economic evaluation and small farmers will reap the benefits.

He stated that the farmer producer organizations would improve the sales, production, and quality of the farmers.

The Chief Minister stated that a horticulture marketplace is being established in Ganaur, an Apple market in Pinjore and a species market, both in Sonipat, to increase farmers’ production and provide them with remunerative pricing.

J.P.Dalal, Agriculture Minister, stated that the MoUs will allow the farmer producer organizations to be directly connected to the companies.

This will allow for the purchase of 60,000 tonnes of horticulture crops.The MoUs will allow farmers to move in a new direction.

Dalal says that 599 farmer producer organizations were formed by 77,985 farmers.

The new policy will involve 16 lakh farmers to help reach the goal of setting up 1,000 farmer-producer organizations by 2022.
