Norway, Germany to enhance collaboration on security and transition to a greener future

Copenhagen 16 August : Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store met visiting German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Norways capital Oslo to discuss the biggest issues facing Europe including climate, security and the green transition.

"Germany is Norways largest partner in Europe.

We are cooperating in the resolution of the conflict in Ukraine and we are expanding our cooperation in renewable energy sources.Our collaboration will assist us achieve our common targets of eco-friendly industrialization and less emission," stated Store in an announcement from the office of the PM.Norway and Germany have a long-standing energy cooperation which is currently being expanded to include hydrogen carbon storage and capture offshore wind power, battery production, and other fields, Xinhua news agency reported in a report quoting the Norwegian Prime Minister "To avoid becoming dependent in Russian fossil fuels, we need to develop innovative energy sources.However, we also need to prepare for the future and create renewable energy sources," Scholz said in the press conference that followed the meeting.int/sh.
