The new variant of coronavirus, Omicron, from South Africa is causing great concern across the world.With this, the vigilant nations are conducting Covid diagnosis tests on the arriving passengers from various parts of the country.

In a similar vein, India is conducting covid tests on passengers arriving from abroad.The Telangana state health department has breathed a sigh of relief when it was revealed that the travellers from abroad, who tested Covid positive, did not have an Omicron variant.

Thirteen of those from the high-risk countries were diagnosed with coronavirus, and all were referred to TIMS for treatment.So far, 1,805 passengers have come to Telangana from Omicron-risk countries.

On Monday, 37,108 people in the state underwent corona tests, and 195 of them tested positive, said Dr Srinivasa Rao.With this, the number of corona positive cases has reached 6.77 lakh so far in Telangana.It was recently revealed that the death toll from the total corona has risen to 4 thousand, as one person died in the last 24 hours.In one day, 171 people recovered, and a total of 6.69 lakh people recovered so far in Telangana.
