Ayodhya Dec 1 : .The Vishwa Hindu Parshad (VHP), will not be holding any major program on December 6.
It will be a routine affair with no special events. The Babri Mosque was torched by a mob of Ayodhya’s kar sevaks on December 6, 1992.
Since then, the VHP has been celebrating the day as ‘Shaurya Diwas.
Alok Kumar, VHP national working president, stated that some things have become routine and that there is no need for extra spectacle.
Sharad Sharma, VHP spokesperson in Ayodhya said that an appeal” would be made to the public to light earthen lamps to celebrate the occasion. He added, “The determination has attained achievement”)
This is a significant political development in Uttar Pradesh, as the BJP has been trying to pitch construction Ram Temple in the state as ‘delivery on a promise’.
Ayodhya was the focus of attention after the BJP came into power in 2017.The Yogi Adityanath government organized ‘Deepotsavs’ in the temple town each year.
The VHP decision comes at an interesting time in Mathura, where tensions are brewing.Police have imposed prohibitory orders following threats by Hindu Mahasabha activists that they would install an idol dedicated to Lord Krishna in Shahi Idgah December 6.
The police have warned that they will take strict action against anyone who attempts to disturb the peace in the holy city.
