New Delhi : Dec 25, 2005 - As Indias debate over a new Coronavirus strain is heating up, top health professionals advised that people should not listen to rumours and instead wait for global health agencies such as the World Health Organisation (WHO), or the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to confirm or disprove the existence of this Covid variant.
They quoted Dr Shashank Joshi from Maharashtras C-19 taskforce, who stated: "Delmicron has caused a mini tsunami of cases, due to the twin spikes Omicron and Delta in Europe and America." As of right now, there are no Covid variants and no information on any other mutation of SARS-CoV-2, which has been spreading rapidly worldwide.
Neither Indian Council of Medical Research, (ICMR), nor Indian National Covid-19 taskforce have mentioned the existence of the so-called Delmicron.Harshal R.Salve, an Associate Professor at AIIMS New Delhis Centre for Community Medicine, stated to IANS that there is no variant.Salve stated that there is not yet a new Covid virus type called "Delmicron".
Omicron, a mutated Coronavirus, is not a new virus.Although its infectivity appears to be higher than expected, the severity of the disease is milder.
He said that theres no reason to be panicked about it.According to the Health Ministry, India reported 415 Omicron-related cases. At least 115 of these cases have been treated.
Maharashtra is home to the most Omicron infections, with 108 cases.Delhi has 79.Gujarat is home to 43 Omicron infections, while Telangana has 38.Dr Neha Gupta is an Infectious Diseases Specialist at Medanta Medicity Gurgaon. She says that Delta remains the dominant Covid strain while Omicron has been spreading.
Studies have revealed that Omicron has an incubation time of only 3 days, compared with Deltas 2-28 days. She explained to IANS that this means the third wave will be shorter and may reach a greater peak if Covid appropriate measures arent followed.
She said that there is no reason to be afraid about the Delmicron version.na/shb #Delmicron #combat #Omicron #Telugu #TeluguStop #Telangana #Delhi #Neha #Delhi #New Delhi #Gujarat #Maharashtra #Telangana #Covid #Coronavirus #Covid-19.
