It was Nikkhils Mumbai Diaries26/11, a drama series about hospitals that starred Mohit Raina & Konkona Sen Sharma.
This drama brought attention to the critical care doctors and nurses who worked in Mumbais hospitals during those three nights of terror.Advani spoke out to IANS about the behind-the scenes work that went into the series.
He said that he had seen many instances of how doctors and nurses reacted in those critical hours that resulted in the saving of lives at Cama & Albless Hospital. He said, "We must not forget that we were at War for those Three Days and while the Mumbai Police and ATS did a fantastic job, it was their knowledge that the medical teams had our backs that allowed us to enter the situation so bravely.
" The eight-part series, which also featured Sonali Kulkarni and Satyajeet Dubey as lead roles, chronicles the courage of doctors in the citys hospitals, and the staff at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel. The medics did everything they could to live up to their oath of saving life.
The hotel staff was able to organize incognito exits for many of their guests, which saved them from certain death. They knew the floorplan better than the gunmen.
Research-backed films and OTT series can have a huge impact on the content.Advani stated that the shows energy changed.
"The fact that decisions must be made in split seconds made it so I created a world that was relentless and frenetic." Its easy to forget that doctors are also human beings and go through the same emotions as everyone else in a country where doctors are often subject to violence from patients attendants.
Advani shared his thoughts on the human side medical professionals and concluded his conversation with IANS by remarking: "Sometimes those who are meant for healing are the most broken." We dont think about the people who put on a mask to save our lives. This is something we take for granted.
This is what attracted me the most, and its what inspired me to tell this story.aa/sr #Nikkhil #Advani #docs #nurses #Mumbai.
