Bhopal, Nov 29, : , Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan asked top officials Monday to examine all Non-Government Organisations or NGOs operating in the state that are receiving funds from abroad. During a virtual meeting, the chief minister asked all the officials to prepare an audit report on funding of non-governmental organizations and the money they spent (NGOs) and submit it to his office.
He stated that he had noticed that some NGOs were involved in conversion, especially in tribal areas, and directed the officials to stop it immediately.”Find all NGOs involved with religious conversion in the state.Chouhan stated that Madhya Pradesh does not allow such practices.
He also stated that many NGOs are involved with spreading hatred among the communities.
Chouhan asked about the law and order situation in the state Monday, and said that he knew who these NGOs were and what their resources were.
The law and order situation in their respective areas is maintained by the District Collectors, Commissioners, or Director General (IG), of police.
They are also responsible for ensuring that the schemes of the Centre and the State government reach the ground and that real beneficiaries are benefited.
Chouhan said, “You (District Commissioners, Commissioners, and IGs), are the head of your districts and the direct representatives of Chief Minister’s Office.Therefore, you are responsible for providing security and safety to the people as well as implementing government schemes at ground level.”
The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights, (NCPCR), discovered an alleged conversion racket in which Hindu girls were converted in a Christian Missionary Girls Hostel located in Raisen district of Madhya Pradesh.
