Mumbai, Nov 28th : The Narcotics Control Bureau has refused to reveal information about its anti-drugs war in the past three years under RTI.This was stated by an activist here on Sunday.
He also wanted to know the total value of the drug, the amount seized, and the people who were booked "Surprisingly the NCB, which falls under Ministry of Home Affairs has denied the information under RTI section 24.Galgali stated that the NCB officials provide so many information through different media outlets and make a variety of claims. He was puzzled as to why the NCB was not giving the RTI information, especially since even the Mumbai Police can provide such data on raids by its Anti-Narcotics Cell.
The activist sent a letter to Prime Minister NarendraModi and Union Home Minister Amit Sharma asking for clarifications. He also requested that the central agency upload the anti-narcotics drive to its website in the public interest, as people have a right of knowing about the seizures.
The NCB, which has been active since the death Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput in Maharashtra, regularly issues statements about its anti-narcotics activities, including the sensational raid against a rumored rave party on the Cordelia Cruise on Oct 2.qn/skp #decides #drugs #Mumbai #Bollywood.
