Bhopal, Nov 29, : .Pankaj Advani, of Petroleum Sports Promotion Board, survived a challenge from Santosh R, a qualifier from Karnataka, before securing a 4-3 win in a match in the Men’s 6-Red Snooker Section of the 88th National Billiards & Snooker Championship 2021.
The match was played at the Sage University Campus. Madhya Pradesh’s cueists Amee Kanani and Ishika Shah seamlessly rolled into round two of the ladies’ first-round encounters.
With a 4-1 win, Amee defeated Tamil Na’u’s Neenapraveen (49-10), 34-01, 22–45, 14–37, 37-01).Ishika made a huge sensation by defeating Karnataka’s veteran Chitra Maghimairaj in five frames, winning a 4-1 (13-24, 57-12.56-12, 25-11).
Indi’s cueist Advani, who holds 24 world titles, made a late comeback against his Karnataka opponent.He went on to win a tense 27-30, 39-00 and 42-28 matches, as well as 45-00 and 45-45.
Advani, who was satisfied with the match, said that “The 6-Red snooker format can be unpredictable just like T20 cricket.” Any move can alter the course of the game.I was happy to win the match against Santosh, with whom I practice in Bengaluru occasionally.
It was a close match and I hope to improve my performance in the Nationals.
In one of the most thrilling matches, Maharashtra’s Kreish Gurubaxani rallied from defeat to turn the tables against Karnataka’s ML Lakshman, securing a creditable 4-3 victory (14-42.08-64(64.64.00.41.38.08.62.04, 40-21.41-08)
