Prayagraj : , Nov 26, 2011 – The Mahant Narendra Giri murder case had involved three people who circulated an objectionable audio.This defamatory audio put the seer under enormous mental and psychological trauma, which ultimately led to his death. The 19-page chargesheet of the Mahant Narendra Giri case filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), states that the accused Anand Giri and Adya Tiwari were guilty of suicide abetment.
The CBI has treated a Mahant video before his death as a dying declaration, while the report on the suicide note of seven pages sent to the CBI for forensic and handwriting analysis remains pending.
Mahant Narendra Giri (Prakyagraj) was found dead at Baghambari Gaddi on September 20.
According to the chargesheet, Anand and Mahant in Lucknow had a truce on May 26, but it didn’t work out.
In 2004, Mahant Narendra Giri was elected head of the Baghambari Mutt, and Anand became his disciple.They had differences when Anand formed the ‘Ganga Sena,’ which held a camp without Mahant’s permission.
Swami Balbir Giri was named his successor on January 7, 2010.However, Mahant nominated Anand as his successor in a fresh will on August 29, 2011.
On June 4, 2020, the Mahant changed his will again.Balbir was nominated as his successor.Anand had also started traveling to foreign countries and created a separate entity.
Mahant had stated in his will that Anand was involved with ‘anti-religious activities’ and also wrote about expelling him for his misdeeds.
CBI investigation revealed that Anand asked Mahant Ravindra Puri, Niranjani Akhara, to be his interlocutor in order to have his expulsion revoked.
Ravindra called Mahant on May 23rd, which Anand recorded.
During the chat, Anand threatened Mahant by claiming he has many objectionable audios or videos.
Narendra Giri questioned his disciples on September 11 about’sulphas and its effects on the body.
He asked another disciple to bring a nylon cord.
According to the CBI chargesheet, Mahant was seen using the nylon rope in the guest room.
The next day, Mahant told his disciples that Anand was going release edited videos of him in an objectionable position with a female.
CBI mentions that Mahant was subject to severe trauma as a result of the conspiracy.
