Myanmar to vaccinate half of its target group by the year’s end

Yangon, Nov 30, : Myanmar plans to vaccinate 50% of its target group by December 31, according to state media reports on TuesdayAccording to the report, Thet Khaing Win, Health Minister, stated that more than 17,000,000 people, which is 50% of the target population over the age 18 years old, have been inoculated against Covid-19 at minimum once by the end this year.

Covid-19 outbreak surveillance has been strengthened to stop the new Covid variant entering the borders.

The minister also stated that preparations for next wave should be based on the experience gained from the third wave of Covid, Xinhuas news agency reported.According to the ministrys latest figures, more than 11.6 million people were fully vaccinated and over 4.8 millions people received their first Covid vaccines by November 27.According to the ministrys data, Myanmar had reported 521,931 Covid infected with 19,097 deaths as of Monday.int/sks/shb #Myanmar #vaccinate #target.
