He wrote that "In effect, over a 6-month period, we won’t have delivered any additional cars, but we will have spent lots of money and burned ourselves out trying to accelerate deliveries in each quarter." The memo was sent after Tesla was capable of increasing its global deliveries to more than 241,000 in its most recent quarter, despite supply chain problems and a shortage of chips.
According to the report Tesla has not yet released a clear delivery goal for 2021 but stated that it intends to increase deliveries by approximately 50% annually.Tesla reiterated its guidance of "50% average annual growth vehicle deliveries" over a multiyear horizon, including during its third quarter earnings call.
