Lucknow : The Samajwadi Party Headquarters in Lucknow burst into song upon the arrival of party patriarch Mulayam Sing Yadav at the office.
On his birthday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished him well.Chief Minister Yogi Aityanath also wished him.Pramod Tiwari, a former Congress MP and Sanjay Singh, an Aam Aadmi Party member, also visited the leader and wish him a happy birthday.There were bands there, and party workers beat the streets with dhols while folk singers performed songs for the occasion.
Akhilesh Yadav, president of Samajwadi Party and Prof.Ram Gopal Yadav, party MP welcomed Mulayam to their home with flowers and shawls.
A 83-kilogram "laddoo" was an attraction in the party office, which was covered with posters and hoardings wishing the patriarch.An emotional Mulayam waved to the thousands of people who had raised slogans in his name and sent him a birthday wish.
Singers and poets sang tributes to veteran leaders, while singers performed poetry.His younger brother Shivpal Singh Yadav also celebrated Mulayam Singh Yadav’s birthday in Etawah.
He organized a match of wrestling at Sefais Master Chandgiram Sports Stadium to mark the occasion.To mark the occasion, his supporters made a large cake.
Shivpals inability to attend the Lucknow festivities clearly showed that the relations between uncle and nephew were not improving.In Ayodhya the 82-day-long celebration of Mulayam Singh Yadav, Samajwadi Party patriarch, began at "Shrawan Kumar Teerth Kshetra" in Katehri Assembly constituency.It is 45 km from Ayodhya.
Katehri will host non-stop prayers and rituals, and the chanting and singing of "mahamrityunjay" verses.There will also be blood donation camps and distribution of food and quilts to the needy.
Ashish Pandey, a former national vice president of Samajwadi Yuvjan Sabha, and director of the Akhilesh Free Blood Service Campaign, said that "For the past 10 years on Netaji’s birthday, I have dedicated the day for the poor and the needy." He said that while we celebrate his birthdays on days equivalent to his age, he organises social programmes.
