Bhopal, Sep 18 : The Congress is set to kick-start its Jan Akrosh Yatra from Tuesday and as many as seven vehicles (mini-trucks) have been decorated, raising questions over the BJPs Jan Ashirvaad Yatra.
In the meantime, a controversy also erupted over the Congress yatras theme song Chalo Chalo.
The BJP accused the Congress of copying it from the campaign song of Imran Khans Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI), who has reportedly used an election theme having words Chalo Chalo in 2013.
The Congress Jan Akrosh Yatras theme song in question has key lines -- "Chalo Chalo Congress ke sang Chalo Chalo".
The state BJP leaders posted a mixed clip of Pakistans ex-PM Imran Khan-led PTIs theme song Chalo Chalo Imran ke Saath and the Congress theme song on social media platforms.
The Congress media cell retaliated by sharing videos of an earlier BJP campaign song in Rajasthan, apparently made using the line "Chalo Chalo".
The partys media cell also shared clippings from April 2019 of the Pakistan Army accusing Telangana BJP MLA Raja Singh of copying the song from its Pakistan Day song to pay tribute to the Indian Army.
Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra also took jibe at the Congress over the theme song.
He said: "The Congress has stolen theme song of its Jan Akrosh Yatra, Chalo Chalo, from Pakistan. It was because of Kamal Naths chalo chalo that the party lost 28 MLAs, lost its government and also its credibility in the state."
Responding to that, Congress leader K.K.Mishra said "one theme song of the party has made BJP upset".
