Lucknow, Nov 30, (INAS) Mission Shakti, the flagship campaign of Yogi Adityanath’s government in Uttar Pradesh is now moving beyond empowering women.It is working towards gender equality, sensitising and making men aware of the rights of women. Nearly three million people were made aware of women’s rights by Mission Shakti’s third phase.This includes more than 12 lakh men and 16 lakh women.
The Department of Women’s Welfare and Child Development organizes awareness programmes to educate men about the rights of women.
Director, Women Welfare Manoj Rai said that in just three months, more than 28.32 million people were made aware of the state by various communication channels, including workshops and seminars.About 12,18,181 male participants and 16,09,238 females are among them.
The state government is working hard to make men aware about their legal rights and educate them about the state’s benefits for women welfare programs.
He stated that special awareness programs are being organized by the state to raise awareness about various laws and provisions relating to violence against children and women.
“This is a step towards gender equality.Rai said that empowering women and raising awareness about women’s rights helps to limit gender stereotypes that prevent women from fully participating in public, professional, and social life.
