Milind Soman is set to portray the role of Indo-Pak warrior Sam Manekshaw in ‘Emergency’

Mumbai 25 August : Supermodel and actor Milind Soman has taken on the role of Sam Manekshaw, the 1971 Indo-Pakistan war hero for the film ‘Emergency’, which is due to release later this year produced by Kangana Ranaut.
In the same way that Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade and Mahima Chaudhry have already joined the cast of the film, Milind now has been recruited in to play the part of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, who was the Chief of Army Staff during the War of 1971.

Milind told us: “I am happy to be working with Kangana.I have enjoyed many of her works, but especially Queen and Tanu Weds Manu.

I am excited to begin working under her guidance.Being a the role of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw is a big honor and the most significant responsibility.”

Kangana She will be playing the role of the former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in the film, has said she believed that Sam Manekshaw was the hero of the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971.

She said that Milind Soman’s imposing charisma and acting skills were perfect to play the type of actor we wanted to play this crucial role.

Kangana stated: “Sam Manekshaw had clarity of vision and was a strong-headed person and his significance is a major factor in the movie.The film shows how two extremely strong-headed people Mrs.Gandhi and Sam Maneskshaw collaborated to fight the conflict against Pakistan.”

“This section of history has me intrigued much as it delves into the way things worked and turned out.We are fortunate to have Milind Sir will play this role.I’m hoping that this film will be a testament to his immense talent and amazing screen presence.”

“Emergency,” as the title implies, is about the situation of National Emergency declared by Indira Gandhi on the 25th of June 1975.It lasted until March 21 1977 and was lifted at which point the Janata Party was voted to the presidency in an historic election.

Manikarnika films present “Emergency” written by and directed by Kangana Ranaut.It is directed by Renu Pitti and Kangana Ranaut.

The dialogues for the film are composed created by Ritesh Shah who was previously associated with famous films like “Kahaani,” “Pink,” and ‘Raid’ as well as Airlift.
