San Francisco, Nov 28, : After a two-hour-long outage that affected thousands, if not millions, of developers, Microsoft’s open-source platform GitHub is now back online. GitHub began experiencing problems at 3.45 p.m.ET Saturday: Git operations, API request, GitHub actions and packages were all affected.
“We are investigating errors affecting most GitHub Services,” stated an incident update on the GitHub status page.
It stated that they are currently investigating the matter and would provide an update as soon possible.
The report stated that Git operations, API queries, webhooks and pull requests were all down for more than 2 hours.
However, these services are now fully operational, despite the fact that GitHub pages, GitHub packages, GitHub actions, webhooks, pull request, GitHub actions, and GitHub pages were down.
It added that GitHub now hosts more than 73,000,000 developers who rely on the service to manage their Git version and host software development projects.
GitHub is a large code repository which has grown in popularity with developers and companies hosting entire projects or code on the service.GitHub is used by many tech giants such as Apple, Amazon and Google.
There are more than 100,000,000 repositories on GitHub.Therefore, any outage can have a significant impact on many organisations.
