After scoring 201 runs each, Royal Challengers Bangalore triumphed over Mumbai Indians in a Suspenseful Super Over.
Continuing the entertainment from KXIP vs RR, IPL has recorded yet another 200 plus thrilling run chase that ended with a Super over.
Royal Challengers Bangalore won their 2nd match against Mumbai Indians through a super over to move to third place in the IPL 2020 points table.
At first, MI won the toss and put RCB into batting.
The openers gave a superb start for RCB as Aaron Finch 52(35) found the rhythm in this game while Devdutt Pedikkal sensibly batted for 54 (40).But it was AB de Villiers 55(24) and Shivam Dube 27 (10) who glittered at the end to have a big score of 201 for 3 wickets.
MI was away from the win as they are 78-4 in 11.2 overs.However, Young lad, Ishan Kishan 99 (58) and Kieron Pollard 60 (24) miraculously levelled the score at 201 for 5 in 20 overs, opening the doors for a thrilling super over.But the Paltan couldn’t sustain the nerves at the end.
Kieron Pollard and Hardik Pandya opened the batting in the Super Over for Mumbai.Tired Pollard and over-hyped Pandya couldn’t score more runs and managed just 7 runs from it.For Bangalore, AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli took the responsibility.Bumrah bowled the three deliveries very well giving just 2 singles and a dot ball, however, de Villiers smashed a four on the 4th delivery to make it 2 from 2.The suspense continued with a single on the 5th ball.When one run needed off the final delivery, captain Virat Kohli hit his first four and ended the suspense.
Surprisingly, AB de Villiers was awarded the Player of the Match.With this, RCB has moved to 3rd place in the points table while MI has managed to stay at 5th place.
