Telangana state IT and Municipal Minister KTR said that he agrees with the proposal that Secunderabad Cantonment should be merged with Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation.He addressed the issue as a Twitter platform.
The minister said some were of the view that the cantonment should be merged with GHMC.KTR tweeted asking people’s opinions on this.
The majority of people opinion seems to be that the solution to all problems is to merge the cantonment into the GHMC.
Many tweeted that the only solution to the traffic problem and development was to merge the cantonment board with the GHMC.
However, others say it’s not all that easy.The Cantonment Board is under the purview of the Central Ministry of Defense.
Many tweeted that it requires the union govt approval to merge it with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation.
Some netizens also demanded that the corporations surrounding GHMC be merged into GHMC.
Millions of city dwellers are facing many difficulties as roads are being closed by the military often.They said that during the Corona times, four major roads Allahabad Gate Road, Gaff Road, Wellington Road and Ordnance Roads were closed, and people travelled long distances to reach their homes.
