Panaji, Nov 30, : International travellers arriving in Goa from any one of the 12 affected countries by the Omicron coronavirus variant will be kept in isolation for 14 days.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant stated TuesdaySawant spoke to reporters following a meeting of top officials of the state Health Department and Goa Medical College, Airports Authority of India, and the Mormugao Port Trust.
He also stated that all international passengers arriving to Goa will have to undergo a Covid-19 screening upon arrival "Every international passenger will have to be tested." This has been resolved.
Passengers from the 12 affected countries (by the new variant) will be isolated.They will be closely monitored.
Sawant stated that this will be the strict protocol at Goa airport and MPT, which is designated international cruise terminal.Sawant also stated that inbound passengers from 12 countries will need to be isolated and tested after seven days according to central government guidelines.
He said that if they are negative, there will be some relaxation over the seven-day period "Government of India guidelines will be strictly followed for these 12 countries.We have stated that all international passengers will be tested at the airport and MPT."The protocol will be implemented tomorrow," said the Chief Minister.maya/skp #Mandatory #intl #passengers.
