Shahjahanpur (UP), Nov 29, : A man died from high-tension electricity cables near his home.His wife also died trying to save him.The incident occurred in Singhapur village, Shahjahanpur district, at the Mirzapur police station.
Dangal Singh, 42 years old, was a marginal farmer and was working on his terrace when he accidentally touched the overhead cable.He was instantly electrocuted.
His wife Jashoda Devi (38), heard his screams and ran upstairs to try to rescue him.She also suffered burns.
The couple were rushed to the government medical school, where Dangal Singh was declared deceased and Yashoda was also treated.
Officials from the Power Department stated that the power lines were laid before the construction of the houses in the row.These houses were built without any approval.
Manbahadur Sing, Mirzapur police station’s chief of staff, stated that the bodies were handed over to their relatives after an autopsy on Sunday.This matter has not been the subject of an official complaint.
The couple is survived three daughters and two boys, but there is no breadwinner.The oldest daughter, aged 17, is the oldest.
